Practice History
After gaining valuable experience in both private practices and local governments in Sydney, Derek Hill co-founded the practice as a bespoke multidisciplinary company with Larissa Hill, his wife, and Registered Architect in 2015.
Since relocating to the NSW Mid North Coast, the practice has been rebranded as Hilltribe Landscape Consulting and Hilltribe Architects.
The company continues to service both private clients and local government in the Mid North Coast, Newcastle, and Central Coast regions. The small, dedicated team is involved in every project, ensuring high quality outcomes for our clients.

Building teams of specialist consultants, tailored to the needs of each project is our specialty. We work with a range of surveyors, cost consultants, engineers, and ecologists to deliver quality outcomes for complex small and medium size projects.
Our understanding of the complexities of flooding, soil conditions, endangered ecological communities and sensitive cultural sites allow us to generate achievable design options that meet the needs of our clients and the intended user groups.
